We made it home from our first overnight field trip. It was a great trip. We received so many compliments about how wonderful the students were on the trip. We listened to storytelling at the Warm Springs Museum, saw modern irrigation in action, and hiked at Smith Rock. The sense of community is growing in this school. You could hear it at morning meeting today. Thank you to all the parents that helped chaperone this trip!
We are still working on our stories in class. Students should have a working first draft of a lesson learned/accomplishment and also an adventure they have experienced. We will do a humorous story next week. Students will listen to an example on Monday and need to have a humorous story that they can share on 9/29 in class. These should be a few minutes long and be told without reading the story.
We will also be starting our Mesopotamia unit next week. School attendance is essential during this unit because much of the learning is done as a simulation in class.
Have a great weekend!
