First of all, remember to change your clocks this weekend. Fall back one hour!
Partners were assigned a Lewis and Clark book this week. Several students have already finished the first book and chosen another. Please talk with your child and discover what he/she has learned so far of the Corps of Discovery.
On Wednesday, each student drew the name of a member of the expedition. We conducted a bit of research to find out information about the people. Some folks are mentioned in a wealth of material, while others are much more obscure. Students will create biography cards next week to display their findings.
We are concluding the matter section of our science unit. Students will be quizzed next week on characteristics of the three common forms of matter, as well as their knowledge of measuring mass and volume. Next up, we will investigate changes in matter, such as melting and evaporation.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION regarding a change in pick-up instructions for the end of the school day: Beginning Monday, November 7th, please meet your child at the outside door of our classroom if you are picking him/her up at 3:35 p.m. If you are not there, students will head to the front hall outside the office. Early pickups at 3:05 will continue to be in the front hall outside the office. Thanks for your patience and flexibility while we adjust our routines.
Hopefully, you were able to register at QTopia this week. Each math group has an assignment. Students wishing to do more than what is required may search the practice section for activities related to concepts on which they need more practice.
Be sure to work on your goals this weekend!
