Adventures in Basket Weaving

Make sure to ask your child today about our basket weaving afternoon. We started with a lightweight cardboard base and wove rafia around and around, until we reached the top of the spokes. Lilly and Galilea were able to figure out how to finish off the baskets and taught our entire class. Way to go crafty girls! Weaving paper with buddies last month also prepared us with the skills needed for the project.

Our baskets will be used the upcoming culminating celebration and it was oh so relevant to our study of Chinook food.

Students were engrossed in this project and you’ll see why!

Bekah Tucker About Bekah Tucker

This is my eighth year as a primary classroom teacher, previously working as a special education teaching assistant and an english preschool teacher in Prague.

Outside of teaching, my passions are traveling, trying new restaurants, strong coffee, being with friends and family, and enjoying the beauty of the Columbia River Gorge.

I love being a Corbett teacher!
