CAPS in full swing

School is in full swing in CAPS at Springdale. We are happy to be in our new home getting to know all of our students and families. Students have been learning geography and geology, reading, writing, memorizing and reciting poetry, creating artful chairs, painting, doing lots of math, learning Spanish and taking music lessons – not to mention working in our garden space, playing at recess, eating lunch with their teachers, and enjoying our community time at Morning Meeting. I have been surprised at how naturally our school has come together! With the common efforts of staff, families, and students, the year is off to a wonderful start.
Our parking lot has been a challenge and someone got stuck in it over the weekend causing more damage. Randy Trani worked on it this Sunday to make it drivable – so we shouldn’t have any problems come Monday and for the near future. We continue to look for a permanent fix and we appreciate your patience!
Thank you to all of our families, community and our teachers! I feel very fortunate to be a part of this new program in our beautifully remodeled space – and I know I’m not alone. Stay tuned for a Grand Reopening Celebration when the total remodel is complete – sometime in October!
