Week 23 in Mr. Houck’s Class, by Isabel Rickert

Every week one student in our class gets to sit out the super quiz and write the weekly update.  This week’s update was done by 7th grader Isabel Rickert.  Thanks, Isabel!

This week in Mr. Houck’s class we have done more of our Civil War simulation. We also worked on memorizing the Gettysburg Address, and we started proposing our space museum projects. In the Civil War unit we got to make up our own scenarios for the Dice of Destiny. Some offered lots of points and some didn’t.  We have also started working on making our Gettysburg Address murals, so instead of using words, we use pictures.

And of course, this Thursday is Valentines Day! Selena, an 8th grader down at Springdale, has set up a Valentine’s dance. There’s a dance-a-thon, which is where you get sponsors to donate a certain amount of money to donate to the school each time you dance with someone. You can also buy candy grams at lunchtime from Jordan for fifty cents. And they deliver them to the person of your choice on Valentines Day. And that was this week in Mr. Houck’s class.
