This Is Where It All Begins! Week 2, by Mally McCowen

Every week one student in our class gets to sit out the super quiz and write the weekly update.  This week’s update was done by 8th grader Mally McCowen.  Thanks, Mally!

This week in Mr. Houck’s class we started out by studying 10 new vocabulary words.  So far we have 30 out of 100 words.

This is our second week of religion studies.  Christianity was this week’s religion.  The class learned about the places of worship, who the followers were, what the main branches are, what they wear, etc.

We created the story lines to our Choose Your Own Adventures this week.  Each student made a bracket showing the paths of each of their adventures.  Most of the brackets include 8-15 different endings, which could be several different ways you choose to go before coming to one of the ends.

Also for our stories we created a self-portrait of our main character, by sketching the person and then painting him\her with water colors.  Then they will be placed in the front of our books.

On Wednesday most of the class time was dedicated to our trip to Buck Creek.  We used the morning period for Mr. Houck to show us how to use the tools and the afternoon to go to Buck Creek and use the tools ourselves.  Well this is just the beginning of all the madness.  There is plenty more to come!
