It’s time for Homecoming & Spirit Week!

Next week marks a very special tradition at Corbett High School and is always one of my favorite times of the year as a teacher. The high school commons gets decked out with glittery red & black posters, students dress up in silly outfits for the spirit-themed days of the week and Friday’s home football game and dance gives students a chance to demonstrate their awesome Cardinal pride. So what does homecoming look like at Corbett? I’d like to share with you exactly that.

Our festivities kicked off last Thursday with an all-school assembly led by the leadership team to communicate with all students what they can expect for our exciting week at school. The band played, students modeled outfits for each spirit day in a mini-fashion-show and attendees were informed of upcoming activities. The Cardinal pride was running high!

Monday: Movie Day; Come to school dressed as your favorite movie character!

Tuesday: College Day; Who does your family root for? Where do you hope to attend? Come adorned in your favorite college gear!

Wednesday: Animal Day; Think of a creative way to dress as an animal, or pair up with your friends and come as a pack!

Thursday: Career Day; Have a current job, a dream job or a creative outfit idea for a career? Come dressed ready to show it off!

Leadership students will be voting on the best outfits each day and awarding prizes. If you dress up for all four days, you will also get a special prize to commemorate your fantastic participation in the spirit week festivities.

Thursday @ 7:00 in the main gym. Boys will be coached by the girls’ volleyball players during the week and play in a heated class competition. Come out and cheer them on! Interested in playing? Let the volleyball players in your grade know you want to be on the team!

Come cheer on your Cards at 7:00pm for a home football game versus Warrington! Homecoming Court will be also be honored at halftime.

After the game, head on over to the gym for the annual homecoming dance!
