Week of October 14th

We battled stubborn computers, an obstreperous website, and less than speedy keyboarding skills, but we managed to send off our first individual messages to our new EPals in Cartersville, Georgia, this week. We hope to hear back from them  on Monday.  Your child can log in to http://www.epals.com and show you their message or check for new mail, and also view photos posted in the Gallery or read introductions from the other kids under the Student Discussions tab of our project workspace. Next week, we hope to exchange information on our typical school day.

In the Explorer magazine from National Geographic, we learned some rather surprising facts about spooky animals, cenotes in Mexico, and our very own skin. Ask your child for details!

Our class spent most of each afternoon this week with Mrs. Dawkins and Pablo Picasso. This is the third artist they have studied in depth this year, and they produced several projects in the style of Picasso.

Thank you to all who have returned Early School Closure forms, permission slips for the play, and $2 (or more) to help pay for the tickets. If you have not yet sent in any of the above items, please turn them in next week.
