I’ll try to keep this message brief, as I know that everyone is anxious to go trick-or-treating! (Not trigger treating as one of our students wrote this week!)
We have been extremely busy this week posting pages to our project wiki and sharing celebrations, food preferences, and favorite games with our EPal partners. You can read them all at www.epals.com. Our introductory project is ending. Students have chosen whether to continue with their EPals from Georgia or not. If they are sticking with their partners, they are expected to check their account for mail at least once a week and answer any message within a few days. Please help out by reminding them and also looking over their shoulders to edit the new messages.
I sent out feelers to several other teachers around the world and expressed interest in corresponding with their students. A teacher from Turkey answered, so we have matched seven pairs of students. It will be interesting to see what they find out about each others’ culture and country.
For those students who have not mastered the names and locations of all seven continents and five oceans, there will be another quiz next week. Please see if your child is ready. If not, they may want to practice at http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/World_Continents.htm.
Remember that the Alice in Wonderland play is on Monday, November 4th. Chaperones, please arrive by 9:30. We will board the bus at 9:45. Hopefully, we will return to school by noon.
