- What: Docent guided tours at the Portland Art Museum followed by a walking tour of art galleries in the Pearl District
- When: Tuesday, May 20, departing school at 8:50 am and returning by 3:00.
I am pleased to announce that the high school art classes will be visiting the Portland Art Museum on Tuesday, May 20th. This will be an opportunity for your child to relate his/her visual vocabulary developed over the course of this year to a range of works in the Museum’s galleries. We will also need 12-14 volunteers to help chaperone the groups. If you would like to help out with this trip please indicate so on the permission slip sent home with your child and send me an email: firstname.lastname@example.org. I will reply with further information. There is no cost to students or chaperones.
Comfortable shoes are a must as we will be on our feet most of the day. After the museum we will have lunch in the Park Blocks, Student Cafeteria at PSU or on route to the Pearl District. Students should bring a sack lunch or order one in advance from Corbett School District’s cafeteria (order with this permission slip) or they may bring money if they wish to purchase food from a food cart along the way to the Pearl District (most lunches at food carts are less than $10). In the afternoon we will visit selected art galleries along a walking tour through the Pearl District. Students and chaperones are encouraged to dress for the weather!
Please note that any medication that needs to go on the field trip must be brought to the health room with appropriate paperwork by Tuesday, May 13.
