Week of May 19th

We’re on the homestretch! We are finishing up a few more projects next week and then we will all be ready for our summer vacation. Please be sure to stop in Wednesday after school (anytime up to 8 p.m.) and take a look at your child’s portfolio of writing, information cubes on the states, Rube Goldberg design, art books, and more. No appointment needed.

A humongous thank you to all who helped make last week’s Exploring the Evidence trip a success. We not only discovered potholes, coulees, ripple marks, streamlined hills, and other geological features of the Missoula Floods, but we had a great time doing it! Thanks also to our faithful weekly classroom volunteers – Shana, Ann, Nancy, Susan,  and Hillary – for correcting math homework, reading with kids, tutoring on math concepts, making copies, cutting out fabric, taking down and putting up bulletin boards, and a multitude of other chores.

Also thanks to each and every one of you for sharing your children with me this year, supervising homework, providing supplies and goodies, and doing all the other little (and not so little) things that you have done to make this year a success.

Progress reports will be mailed out in June.  And don’t forget to let me know if you would like your child in a different class next year.

Have a marvelous summer!
