Thinking ahead to the end of the 2016-2017 school year by Phil Pearson

Our school year is 38 weeks long and want want to make sure we’re making effective use of every day of school. In order to better achieve this and to maximize student learning, the faculty and staff will be doing something different for the last two weeks of the 2016-2017 school year in the high school. Immediately after the AP testing is over in the high school (mid May), students will be changing to their class schedules for the 2017-2018 school year. This means that the 8th graders will meet and settle in with their new 9th grade teachers and the current freshman, sophomores and juniors will began working in their sophomore, junior and senior classes for the 2017-18 school year.  This also means that graduating seniors will be engaged in off-campus activities designed to serve as a culmination of their high school careers. We’re especially excited about the opportunities this will give us with our seniors to build some innovative and outside-the-box experiences.
