The Hittites in the Persian Ziggurat of Your Week: It’s Andrew’s Blog!

Every week one student in our class gets to sit out the super quiz and write the weekly update.  This week’s update was done by 8th grader Andrew Gorecki.  Thanks, Andrew!

Hello, my name is Andrew.

On Monday every one came to school looking like they got only a hour of sleep, and almost everyone did not sing in morning meeting.

So we started off this week with some vocab. (Personally I think quasi- is a one of the best vocab words yet! It means sort of, kind of. Or something like that.) Then later we watched a video about car crashes, and all the physics that are involved, like, friction, momentum, mass, and velocity, only to name a few.

Then on Tuesday we started our storytelling segment. This week’s is funny. The assignment is we have to make a comic about something funny that happened to us. (I was looking forward to that since I like to draw.)

On Wednesday we started learning our Mesopotamia simulation, where you and your table group command one of the biggest civilizations. (My table group has Phoenicians.) But how it works is you have armies and you can send your army to gather resources, attack others and earn coins and civilization points. The table group with the most civilization points wins. And then we studied the agricultural revolution.

This has been a fun week. Have a good weekend. Bye!
