Week 14 blog by Gracie Embree

This week we performed our skits for the ancient Egyptian group projects. Each group taught the class about one important part of what ancient Egyptians did. Next week we will be giving individual speeches on the topic we have been researching for the who ancient Egypt simulation.

The energy terms that we learned this week where biomass and geothermal energy. Geothermal energy is a heat produced by the earths core that we can use to drill wells, lay pipes, and much more. Biomass gets its energy from photosynthesis and we can use its material for the waste that humans and animals make.

This week we started plotting and writing our Harris Burdick rough drafts. This writing assignment is really fun, we took a picture and caption that was created by Harris Burdick and we try and finish his story that he never published by writing about what we think is happening in the story.

We are currently in the middle of our read aloud book called The Schwa was here, and its a boy named Anthony Banano who has a problem with his best friend, schwa who is a part time invisible boy that caused trouble with an old man in town who paid the two boys to be friends with his blind granddaughter.  His granddaughter Lexis is starting to break up the two boys from being friends.

We will continue with our Egypt studies util winter break when we will start yet another interesting thing about our world.
