The Weekly Blog! Week 20 in Houck’s class, by Dylan Summers

Every few weeks, one student in our class gets to sit out the super quiz and write the weekly update.  This week’s update was done by 6th grader Dylan Summers.  Thanks, Dylan!

Welcome to the weekly blog, where I will tell you what my class (Mr. Houck’s class) has done over the week.

On monday, we did some book presentations and then started looking at the new New York Times picture. The picture seemed to look like a police officer and a woman standing next to each other while being surrounded by other police officers. The setting also seemed to be a country in Europe due to the way they were dressed. We also started to work on our Subtotal project. The Subtotal project is were a child writes a paper for either some topic or their life in general with the number of times for whatever (Example: Number of times I slapped someone: 87) and it is supposed to be as long as a buffalo’s whiskers. Then as the usual, we had math, then we got to listen to a book from Houck and went to break and ate L U N C H.

On Tuesday, we listened to more book presentations and we worked more on the Subtotals project and then we had math and did the usual. After break we got to drown gummi bears, which was fun, but then we also had to fill out a packet for it.

Wednesday, we did word roots and religion research group shares. Then we did the usual, came back from lunch and started our P.S.A skits (public service announcements).

On Thursday, we actually-guess what-listened to more book presentations. After that we watched some the P.S.A’s and, they, were, very, funny. After lunch we did the super quiz and I got to skip cause I’m writing this. HA! After that we did CRAFTERNOON which meant we got to make our own Chinese paintings!!!!!!

Well, I hope you and your child or whoever is reading this has a great weekend. Bye bye! ✋✋✋✋
