Corbett Charter High School was ranked number 3 among public high schools in the nation by the Washington Post in 2011. The reason? Unparalleled opportunity for rigorous, college-preparatory coursework.
Over half of all Corbett Charter High School students in each grade passed one or more Advanced Placement exams last year. Freshmen? Half. Sophomores? Half. Juniors? Half. Over half of all seniors passed an AP exam prior to graduation and 85% took the SAT. And we’ll get better. Watch us. Better yet, scrutinize.
Corbett Charter High School is perhaps the only pubic school that comes with a warning label: Hard Work Ahead! The curriculum is demanding in the extreme. And when students find success at Corbett Charter School (CCS), there is extreme satisfaction. Extreme celebration. Pride. Joy. A sense of efficacy.
We don’t pretend that CCS is everyone’s cup of tea. But for families who believe that investment is more than money, who believe that investing effort, energy, care, self-discipline can be their own reward, CCS offers tremendous returns. Half of our entire student body qualified for college credit last year, and in some cases seniors graduated with a full year of college in their pockets. We have graduated fewer than 40 students in our first two years, and already our alumni include a National Merit finalist, a National Hispanic Scholar, an Advanced Placement National Scholar, admission to an array of fine schools including Dartmouth College, Brigham Young, Baylor, George Fox, U of O, Oregon State, and a number of others.
Corbett Charter School. Unlimited opportunity for those who are willing to work for it.
