Smith and Bybee Wetlands and Kelley Point Park

FIELD TRIP FOR 9TH GRADE ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13

On Thursday, October 13, Mr. Cooper’s and Ms. Berger’s classes will spend most of the day at Smith and Bybee Wetlands and Kelley Point Park in Portland. We are visiting these areas as part of our ecology unit in A.P. Environmental Science. Classes will leave by bus at 8 a.m. and return to school by 2 p.m.

We will be outside for most of the day, and the field trip will take place rain or shine. The staff at the wetlands recommends that students come prepared with the following:

  • a warm, water-resistant coat
  • layers of clothes for warmth (no shorts)
  • a hat and gloves
  • sturdy walking shoes (no sandals)
  • clothes that can get wet and dirty (we may be sitting on the ground).

We will eat lunch at Kelley Point Park. Students will need to either bring their own lunches or request sack lunches from the cafeteria. Students who want sack lunches from the cafeteria should let their teacher know no later than Tuesday afternoon.

The cost of the field trip is $5.00 per student. Checks can be made payable to Corbett School District or students may bring cash to their teacher. Students who are unable to pay will still be able to attend.

In order to go on the trip, students must have permission granted by a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians may fill out the form below. (The form may not work with Mozilla Firefox browsers). Alternatively, parents and guardians may complete and sign the form at the bottom of the letter the students were given at school. Students who do not have permission from a parent or guardian will not be able to attend.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
