Corbett Grade School

Academic Foundations for the Next Level

Corbett Grade School is the bedrock of academic and social development for the Corbett Middle and High Schools. A strong staff of talented educators provide high quality instruction in a multi-age environment. Rather than being restricted by grade-level requirements, students work at their own rates and levels. The result of this approach is that every year there are students in grades five and six who are reading and practicing math at a high school level.

Corbett Grade School

Every student participates in an exceptional music program and may choose to participate in the band program at grade five. An intervention specialist works with students who are at risk of falling behind or may be determined to need special education services.

The school’s celebrated Columbia River Gorge Initiative, created and housed at Corbett Grade School, sets the school apart as a national model of place-based education. Students and teachers organize much of their work around the development of In-Depth knowledge of one of the world’s most spectacular and unique physical features, emerging from their elementary experience with significant expertise regarding this national treasure.

The Corbett Grade School has recently been featured on KPTV.  View the story on their website.
