Wallace Newsletter 9/14-9/18

Here is a look at our past week:
Special Event- Drama
  • We are lucky to have Ms. Flinn from the right brain initiative, sponsored by the PTA teaching us how actions effect those around us.
  • We had our first session today. It was amazing!
  • Ask your student about the imagination journey they took today.

Things to put on your calendar

  • Didn’t like school pictures or were absent that day? No worries! We will have school picture retakes on Wednesday, October 24.
  • Just a reminder for Halloween that we are not wearing costumes to school, thanks.
  • Keep collecting your box tops!
History
  • Students continued studying a Native American Region.
  • The students taught the class about the region they studied with either a skit or a google slides presentation.
  • They worked very hard and it showed with their presentations!
Writing
  • Students wrapped up their third personal narratives this week!
  • We have been working on details with: dialogue, endings, editing, revising, and describing the feelings instead of telling them.
  • The stories ended with a lesson/moral the students were teaching the reader.
  • Today they completed the end of the unit final!
Reading
  • Students love their silent reading time!
  • Continued to working on the story arc and summarizing using: somebody, wanted, but, so, and then.
I hope you are finding some time to enjoy this beautiful weather!
