Dear Seniors and Senior Families,
The Graduation Committee is excited to share with you our plan for the Graduation Ceremony on June 20th!
Please know that we are trying to create a memorable experience for the seniors under circumstances we have not experienced before, but we believe with your help we can do it!
Social Distancing guidelines will need to be followed carefully by all participants in order to keep our students and staff safe.
Our tentative plan is to have a check-in at the Dairy Queen Parking lot at 7:00 pm, and then have a parade up to the Main Campus. Cars will park on the soccer field, where we will have a couple of big screens set-up and a stage. Seniors will exit their cars alphabetically, and receive their diplomas on stage. Seniors should wear their cap and gown. We are planning on a few surprises during and after the ceremony!
Our plan is heavily weather dependent, as we will need the soccer field to be dry enough to drive on, and the wind to not blow down the movie screens. We do have a back-up plan if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
We think that only about 120 cars can fit on the soccer field, so we kindly ask that you only have the senior and immediate family in your medium-sized car. Large vehicles will keep others from enjoying the experience. We can accommodate one car per senior, but we understand that there may be special circumstances for families, so please communicate with Kathy Childress (kchildress@corbett.k12.or.us) if this is the situation for your family. In addition, we are looking for ways to Live-Stream the event so that family members not in attendance will be able to watch.
Please watch for an email on June 15th, which will finalize times and locations.
