Community Back To School Celebration by Randy Trani

Community Back to School Celebration

I wanted to take the time to thank all of the people that made our Community Back to School Celebration a wild success!  We had more than 1000 people attend the event. There were community groups represented, student athletes were honored, and Advanced Placement Scholars were identified. The weather was perfect, hot dogs and hamburgers made the picnic atmosphere complete. A picture is worth a thousand words so I will include a few images from last Wednesday night!

Red @ the Community Back to School Celebration

One group I have to thank is the Corbett Booster Club!   Red the Corbett mascot (A Booster Club Purchase)  was at the celebration building Corbett pride.   The Booster Club is working tirelessly to provide athletic opportunities to kids from all age levels in Corbett.  Without the Booster Club we would not have a functional athletics program at the high school and middle school. I am proud to be a member of the Booster Club and encourage all of you to join!

Another group I have to thank is all of the staff who made the night possible.  Phil Pearson, Lori Luna, Dee Dee Hanes, Erica Pace and Jenny Radulesk had a huge hand in making the night a success.  All of the staff pitched in to make sure things were perfect!

Further, there were plenty of volunteers who helped make the event special!  We had more than 25

community organizations volunteer to set up tables and talk to all of the folks who stopped in to visit.  Jeremy Towsey-French and my wife Diane Trani volunteered to help people sign up for all of the services available from the new web site.  Everyone pitched in to help clean up, haul tables and chairs after the event was over!

Awards @ the Community Back to School Celebration

There are far too man people to thank for the excellent celebration we all enjoyed last Wednesday. This year is off to a great start and I want to thank you all for allowing me to work in what I believe is one of the best school districts and greatest communities in Oregon!

Thanks!
Randy
