The Community:
Corbett Charter School (CCS) is a School of Choice, serving students in grades K through 12 from throughout Multnomah and Clackamas Counties. It is located at the Western entrance to the Columbia River Gorge, 22 miles East of Downtown Portland, Oregon.
The School:
Corbett Charter School is a K-12 school with a population of 450 students. It is sponsored by Corbett School District. CCS practices Imaginative Education, Learning in Depth, Philosophy for Children. CCS educates elementary and middle school students in multi-age classrooms, and offers a rich college-preparatory experience to all of its students. The school operates for four days each week and high school students take seven courses that meet each day for one-hour periods.

All Corbett Charter School students are required to take six Advanced Placement classes during grades 9 through 12. The average student opts to take several more.
Student Achievement:
Over half of all enrolled students in each grade passed an Advanced Placement exam in 2011. This is over 11 times the rate at which graduating seniors statewide achieve the same result.
Among Corbett Charter School’s first 36 graduates (in two years) were a National Merit finalist, a National AP Scholar, and a National Hispanic Scholar.
18 of the 64 members of the Classes of 2010-2012 have been recognized as AP Scholars, including several with advanced honors. (The Class of 2012 has one more round of testing, so that number will probably grow!) 74% of our first three graduating classes have taken the SAT and posted an average score of 1123 for math and verbal combined.
Corbett Charter School Graduates are currently enrolled at Dartmouth College, Baylor University, George Fox University, Marquette University, Linfield College, Brigham Young University, Oregon State University, University of Oregon, Hawaii Pacific, Concordia University, Mount Hood Community College, Portland Community College, and Liberty University.
Grades and GPA:
Students earn letter grades of A, B, C, D or Incomplete. Incomplete grades become failing grades if requirements are not completed within one year. GPA is calculated on a four-point scale. Advanced Placement classes are weighted, and both weighted and unweighted GPA’s are calculated.
