Corbett Middle School

Corbett Middle School serves students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Our philosophy is based on an integrated curriculum with a strong focus on experiential or hands-on learning in a close knit community environment. All classes are primarily self-contained, meaning students have the same teacher for Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science, but may regroup with another teacher for Math, PE, and enrichment periods. Music classes are available to all middle school students – they may choose from either band or choir.

We offer a challenging curriculum that is designed around our model of continuous progress. A project-oriented approach provides opportunities for in-depth learning and demonstration of mastery. All of this is best presented in a close community. Many of our daily structures and special events throughout the year are designed to help develop a strong community atmosphere between students as well as between students and teachers. Blended class groupings combine 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in the same classroom The curriculum rotates on a three-year schedule, while the students remain with the same teacher for those three years.
