Corbett Fencers Score in January Tournament!

Corbett high school students Garrett Anderson, Blaise Gilbride, and Spencer Gilbride all fenced well at the open scholastic fencing tournament last Saturday January 7 at PDX Fencing in Beaverton, Oregon. Spencer Gilbride brought home a third place finish in the U-19 Division, after winning all but one match in opening rounds.

Oregonians have a rare opportunity to see world-class fencing live this weekend. The Oregon Convention Center will host the North American Cup January 13-16, which will include men’s and women’s Olympic hopefuls competing in saber, epee, and foil fencing events. The tournament is free to the public.

The next amateur tournament at PDX Fencing will be held February 18, 2012. All past participants in Corbett Fencing are eligible to compete.
