     Thank you!  You are the most amazing group of parents.  Your communication and promptness with paperwork is making our lives so much easier.  Also, we’ve had almost zero tardy kids this week.  Keep it up!  Of course, we also appreciate you trusting us with your most precious children.  We are having so much fun getting to know them.

     A newsletter such as this will come home on the last day of every week. It will also be posted on the district website.  

     If you’re on Instagram, consider following us at shawoldprimary.  We will only allow parents and grandparents to follow this closed group.  If it’s not evident from your user name who you are, please let us know first.

     Some of you have asked about PE and music.  Following, you’ll see which day your child has music and PE.  Please encourage them to wear appropriate footwear on PE days.  Sometimes, PE will be outside so shoes that can’t fill up with bark dust easily are best.

     You’ll also find our daily schedule.  It looks kind of confusing, but the kids fall into the routine pretty quickly.

Some choice tidbits from this week:

1st grade girl:  “Teacher, I couldn’t even sleep last night because I was so excited to see you!” 

Teacher to 1st grade girl:  “I really like the dress you’re wearing.”

Girl (who might be a future museum docent):  “This dress is inspired by the work of Frida Kahlo.”

8:00 attendance is taken

8:02 morning meeting

8:25 Mon/Wed some kids go to music and everyone else does reading

9:00 snack

9:20 recess

9:35 Tues/Thurs some kids go to music and everyone else does reading

10:10 PE time.  If it’s not their PE day, they are reading

10:40 reading

11:00 quiet time

11:15 writing time

11:45 in-class play/paint/draw/build etc etc

12:05 recess

12:30 lunch

1:00 math

2:15 recess

2:30 gorge studies

3:20 pack up/sing songs

3:35 go home
