this week’s top read aloud books from room 5

Periodically, I’ll send book suggestions for home .  Books that we’ve read in class that students and I particularly enjoyed.  Many are higher level books that require parents to read the book to children or children use the pictures to retell the story from memory.

This book stuck out to our room this week because it was full of suspense as we went on an adventure with John Muir and his dog Stickeen.  The pictures are really vibrant too!

Stickeen: John Muir and the Brave Little Dog

Another book that had us talking….The True Story of the Three Little Pigs.  In this book we got to hear the wolfs perspective on the narrative of the famous story book The Three Little Pigs!  We read various versions of The 3 Little Pigs this week to compare and contrast them.  Maybe he really was just looking to borrow sugar and really isn’t the big bad guy that everyone made him out to be?  🙂
