When CAPS opened in 2012, we partnered with the Right Brain Initiative to augment our arts integration goals. We have enjoyed a wide variety of visiting artists from dance and drama to photography and drawing. RBI also provides ongoing professional development for our team to expand our toolbox for arts in the classroom.

The Right Brain Initiative is an arts education partnership of the Regional Arts & Culture Council. They are on the way to making the arts a part of every child’s classroom throughout the Portland metro area, based in the belief that all public K-8 students deserve high quality arts education, regardless of neighborhood, language, or readiness to learn.
