Radon Mitigation & Re-Test: CMS Woodard Room 121 & 123

Following the installation of a permanent radon mitigation system, the building underwent post-mitigation testing by Cascade Radon, Inc. to verify that indoor radon levels were successfully reduced.

The mitigation project included the installation of an Active Soil Depressurization (ASD) system, designed to address the elevated radon levels identified during previous testing.

Testing Results

A 72-hour post-mitigation diagnostic test was conducted from May 12–15, 2026. Testing was completed while the building was assumed to be occupied using two continuous electronic radon monitors.

The results were as follows:

  • Room 123: Average radon level of 0.2 pCi/L
  • Room 121: Average radon level of 0.3 pCi/L

Both readings are well below the U.S. EPA’s recommended action level of 4.0 pCi/L.

Conclusion

Cascade Radon, Inc. concluded that:

  • The radon mitigation system was installed in accordance with applicable codes.
  • Average indoor radon levels are now below the EPA’s recommended action level.
  • No additional mitigation is recommended at this time.

We are pleased with these results and remain committed to providing a safe and healthy learning environment for our students and staff.
